put me in your plans tomorrow

make them adventurous and memorable

spend the darkness cloaked in candles

just to melt away the night

ill put you in my hand tomorrow

with colored yarn and leaves

and when the final stitch has come

ill carry you with me

ill wear you in a bright new mitten

disguised as your own hand

when she arrives to take you back

i will try to understand & let you go
